Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Services
1.0. 1.0. Introduction
— The introduction of ICTs into the college commenced with the formulation of a two year (2004 – 2006) ICT master plan, to be reviewed, bi-annually, afterwards.
— The master plan was aimed at repositioning the college to provide professional training in Aviation industry utilizing the ICT platform. It was therefore taken as an ongoing process to be reviewed periodically in line with contemporary technological trends
— It proffer the framework for developing an ICT policy as well as functional requirements for solutions to be tested and deployed
—The infrastructural layout(backbone) and service requirements for voice, data and video integration
—Management, training and maintenance procedures
—An ICT Unit was established under the office of the Rector/Chief Executive to harmonized, streamlined and managed the master plan and its implementation.
—The ICT Services and Solutions planning and implementation is aimed at mainstreaming ICT Services into the college’s corporate services offerings in order to repositioned and re-engineered an existing systems for greater efficiency and higher productivity
—Mainstreaming ICTs will further ensure the provisioning of high-speed e-learning environment as well as integrated information and data management platform for automating teaching, learning and research processes, thus providing a competitive advantage for the college within the industry.

The unit is organized into the following sections for effective service delivery as follows:

iii Programming and System Analysis
iv Web Operations Management

Our Impact plan revolves around the successful implementation of these new ICT Projects as proposed in the figure below to facilitate automation of all internal processes and enhance efficiency of the college’s operations.

ICT Policy enforcement for the implementation of the following, relating to operation and management issues:
—General(low-level) data communication services providing full-coverage internal & external connectivity for all anticipated user-level ICT services and solutions
—Internal & external e-mail and access-to-internet services at workplaces embodying information provisioning through Internet/Intranet technology
—Availability of common office applications(word processing, spreadsheet processing, access to databases, etc) at all workplaces
—An integrated Library Information system
—An integrated Academics Records Management Information System
—An integrated Finance Information system
—An integrated Human Resource Information system
—Applications for Learning and Education
—All end-users be equipped with necessary level and variety of skills to facilitate performance/functioning
—Sustainable management of ICT resources
